Bodgit & Bendit produce a range of pottery, jewellery and other non-ferrous metalwork from the bronze age to the medieval period. Woodwork and bonework also undertaken. Below are some photographs of some of our range. For a further details contact Bodgit & Bendit, 12a Fairbourne Road, Tottenham, London, N17 6TP, UK yolli@lineone.net

Jewellery and Metalwork

All our jewellery is cast in the same way as the originals. Bronze and silver are cast using the `lost wax' process. All pins are in steel and are fixed using the same methods that were used at the time.

Although our silver items are all made in Sterling silver, they are supplied unhallmarked in the interests of authenticity. However, any silver item can be hallmarked if required (P.O.A.).

Commissions taken for items not illustrated from any historical period within our power to produce.

All dates given are A.D. unless otherwise stated.

Pottery

All our pottery is copied accurately from surviving finds and is based on examples from prehistory to the medieval period. Unfortunately, most of the glazes from this period were lead based, a dangerous thing since prolonged use of the pottery would cause the lead to be leached out into the pot's contents! Fortunately, all our glazes are safe, although accurate in appearance. Most of the early medieval pottery would have been unglazed (only the Stamford ware and Winchester ware pottery was commonly glazed), but in the interest of modern usage most of this is available with a glaze.

All dates given are A.D. unless otherwise stated.
